Public Sector HR Essentials Certificate Program (NEW)

We are excited to announce the launch of PSHRA’s brand-new Public Sector HR Essentials course! The new course spans just 10 weeks and continues to be delivered online asynchronously with a format perfect for busy practitioners like you at a new lower price. 

This course is flexible and tailored for public sector HR professionals. Join us and be where you belong for all your public sector professional development needs.

Whether you are looking to sharpen your skills, transitioning into the public sector, new to the field, want to train your team, or to prepare for the new CP certification* the Public Sector HR Essentials Certificate Program is designed to explore the core concepts of Public Sector HR. 

*PSHRA-CP Certification, application, and exam, now requires a separate enrollment and is no longer tied to this course.

Online Lessons and Cohort Sessions:

This course includes eight online lessons you will complete on your own and four virtual cohort sessions led by a cohort guide.

The online lessons allow you to: 

  • Explore all major areas of public sector HR
  • Learn important concepts, principles and practices
  • Sharpen your skills

During the cohort discussions, you can share ideas, learn from your peers and further develop the improvement plans you prepare during the online sessions.

Course Design:

  • This course will be completed over ten weeks.
  • You will be provided with the specific dates, times, and locations for the cohort sessions after you register. 

Time Commitment:

  • Plan for one hour per lesson to read, complete activities, and prepare for cohort sessions. 
  • We recommend completing lessons a day or two before the cohort sessions to allow time to reflect on on what you've learned and the plans you developed.  

Course Price:
Member - $750; Non-member, $1,000

There’s no textbook to purchase! All course materials are included on your course dashboard at a new lower price.

  • After registering, you will receive a confirmation email advising you how to login.
  • The course will open for review one day before the start date.

    Meetings and Discussions:

    The course spans ten weeks and follows a specific timeline with a sequence of lessons and cohort sessions. You will receive details about the dates, times, and locations of cohort sessions. 

    Time Commitment:

     Plan for 1 hours for each online lesson to read, complete activities, and prepare for cohort sessions. Individuals have varying learning paces, so it might take more or less time for each person. We recommend completing lessons a day or two before the cohort sessions to allow time for reflection on what you've learned and the development of your plans. All course materials are included on your course dashboard (no textbook is required).
